Theodore A. Ramsdell

LANCASTER – Theodore A. Ramsdell, 82, former longtime Guildhall resident, died Wednesday, February 16, 2010, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.



Mr. Ramsdell was born and raised in Guildhall on January 5, 1928, the son of Clarence E. and Noila E. (Thibodeau) Ramsdell.



During the Korean War he served with the US Army. Returning home he went to work in the paper mill industry first employed at the Northumberland Mill and later Gilman Paper Company.



Ted enjoyed stock car racing, working in his garden, repairing bikes, and going out for rides. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.



He was a member of the American Legion in Littleton.



Family members include seven children, Carol Collins of Lancaster, George Stone of Whitefield, Walter Stone of Littleton, Ellen Robinson of Littleton, Judy Dyer of Sharon, VT, Theodore Stone of Woodsville, Robert Ramsdell of Whitefield; a brother, Robert Ramsdell of Guildhall; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his family of friends and caregivers at Country Village. His wife Mary Ann F. (Portigue) Ramsdell and two sisters, Dorothy Hayes and Edith Ramsdell predeceased him.



Visiting hours will be held Friday evening, February 19, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring at Stratford Center Cemetery.

So sorry to hear about Ted. He was a great customer and we considered him a friend also. Ron loved to go and work on his satellite sytem, because Mary was always baking something and "insisted Ron take some home! Just wanted to let you know our thoughts and prayers are with you.
