Alice M. Robinson
5/3/1925 - 4/2/2010





GROVETON – Alice M. Robinson, 84, of State Street, died Friday April 2, 2010, at the Country Village Genesis Eldercare Center in Lancaster.



Mrs. Robinson was born in Northumberland on May 3, 1925, the daughter of Edward and Irma (Dupuis) Gardiner.



Alice was a devoted homemaker most of her life and also worked for a time at Converse Shoe in Berlin and the former Giant Store in Northumberland.



She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton and was an active member of her church. She was a Daughter of Isabella and volunteered much of her time to the operation of church bingo and penny sales.



She was also an active volunteer in the community devoting time to the Thrift Shop in Groveton and working auctions. At one time she was the recipient of the Grange Citizen of the Year award. She enjoyed playing bingo, crafts, yard sales, traveling, float decorating, and loved flowers and cooking. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Groveton American Legion Post #17.





Family members her children, Frederica Jewett of Groveton, Edward Robinson of Lancaster, Shirley Beliveau of Groveton, Edmund Robinson of Groveton, Brenda Stinson of Stratford, Dana Robinson of Lancaster, Paul Robinson of Fire island, NY, Michael Robinson of Groveton, Tina Collier of Groveton and Mark Robinson of Groveton; 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her loving cat Tara. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick G. “Joe” Robinson (2009) and her sister Irene Charron.



Visiting hours will be held Monday, April 5, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church, Groveton. Reverend Daniel Deveau, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Groveton.
