LANCASTER - Donna L. Flynn, 65, died Sunday morning, December 3, 2017, at her home on Sand Street after recent illness. She was born in Lancaster on July 18, 1952, the daughter of Thomas and Lillian (McLain) Flynn.
Donna loved children and dedicated most of her life taking care and spending time with them. For over 20 years she was employed at the Learn and Play Center in Lancaster and she has provided child care for many family members and friends.
She also enjoyed riding her bicycles. Donna was often seen pedaling about town. She preferred running errands on her bike rather than going by car. She was also known for her cooking; her family particularly loved her chicken and biscuits. Keeping with family tradition she loved helping her late father Tom with raising potatoes and she also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and flowers, despite not being able to grow them.
Surviving family members include two sisters, Sue Flynn and Sharon Powell both of Lancaster; nieces, Tina Powell of Milford, NH, Tammie Gawronski and husband Allan of Queen Creek, AZ; great-nieces and nephews, Abigail, Elizabeth, Alexa, Mason, Peyton, Adam, and Hannah. She was predeceased by her parents and a nephew Michael Powell.
A graveside service will be held Monday morning, December 11th at 11:00 AM in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster. Fred Sullivan of Lancaster will officiate.
