Edith "Winnie" R. Hodge

GUILDHALL, VT- Edith "Winnie" R. Hodge, 82, died Thursday February 7, 2008, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Hodge was born in Canaan, VT on August 28, 1925, a daughter of William and Bertrode (Russell) Rowell.
Edith was a graduate of Groveton High School; she attended Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing, where she graduated with a bachelors degree. For a time she worked as the school nurse for Lancaster Elementary, she also worked for many years with Dr. Falkenham and later Dr. Beattie until her retirement.
Winnie served on the Cemetery Commission and for a time as an auditor for Guildhall. She loved gardening and flowers, especially her asparagus beds.
She was a member of the Guildhall Community Church and a member of Adah Chapter # 39 O.E.S.
Family members include three children; Sharon Bissonnette and her husband Rep. Clement Bissonnette of Winooski, VT, Jeffrey A. Hodge of Guildhall, and Rebecca Bacon and her husband Dennis also of Guildhall; three grandchildren; Manessa R. Bacon-Galante of Manchester, NH; Martha Rose Bacon of Broken Arrow, OK; and Mitchell T. Bissonnette of Winooski, VT; two great grandchildren; Molly Elizabeth Bacon and Grace Lauren Galante; a sister Ruby Hurel of New Hampshire; a sister and brother in-law Marion and John Klinefelter of Guildhall and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her husband Raymond R. Hodge and a sister Jeanette Mayberry.
Calling hours will be held Sunday February 9, 2008, from 1-2 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow at the Guildhall, in Guildhall, VT. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers donations maybe made in her memory to a charity of one's choice.
