Samuel Everett Hosford

GILMAN - Samuel Everett Hosford, 14, went on to be with His Lord and Savior Thursday, October 30, 2008, at his home, in his parents arms, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Sammy was born in Quincy, MA, November 10, 1993 to his parents Ron and Noelle Hosford of Gilman. He attended Lunenburg Elementary School and Gilman Middle School. He planned start his high school career at Lyndon institute this fall. He was a Boy Scout with Troop 219 of Lancaster. Sam was very active in his church, New Beginnings of St. Johnsbury, VT, and his school. He always brought a smile to all he met. Sam loved to "ham" it up on stage and with his friends. He was always there with a hug or a smile for anyone who needed him. In addition to his parents, Ron & Noelle Hosford, Sam leaves behind his maternal grandparents Paul & Joanne Belair of East Concord, VT, paternal grandparents, Dave & Dian Hosford of Plymouth, MA; his Aunt Cheri & Uncle Eric Scanlon of Carver, MA; Aunt Cindi Travers and cousins Eli & Sara of Plymouth; Uncle Dave & Aunt Joyce Hosford, cousins Angie, Tamara and Alyssa of S. Attleboro, MA; Uncle Dale Hosford and cousins Lizzie & Brit of Conover, NC; Uncle Danny & Aunt Donna and cousin Kevin of Attleboro, MA; Uncle Dennis & Aunt Chris Hosford and cousins Kali & Travis of Rehoboth, MA; Uncle Darrell and Cousins Darrell Jr. & Mackenzie of Pawtucket, RI and Uncle Dwayne & Aunt Debbie Hosford of Newton, NC. Sam also leaves Auntie Brigette & Uncle Bruce Walters and cousins Elijah & Grady of Lancaster; cousin Devin Belair of Layton, UT; Angela Shaw and their daughter Mariyah of Lancaster. Mariyah was the light of Sam's life and brought him countless hours of joy and laughter. Sam leaves his beloved pets, Piggy, Black Jack, Erogon, and his best pal Buddy. Sam also leaves many, many family members and friends from near and far. He was predeceased by his Aunt Cristi and Uncle Doug Travers. There will be a celebration of Sam's life with a memorial service to be held at the Gilman Middle School on Sunday, November 9, at 3:00 PM. Rev. Rick Menard, pastor of New Beginnings, will officiate. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a charity of ones choice. Grandson, cousin, nephew, son Always there to join the fun. Infectious smile and giggle too, Oh, Sam-I-Am, will we miss you. A friend to all through thick & thin You just felt lucky to be with him Forever caring, kind and true, Oh, Zamis, will we miss you. A boy too young to leave this place, He did his job, to spread god's grace. We'll all try to smile and not be blue, But, Sammy-boy, will we miss you.
