LUNENBURG - Ted Benoit, 75, died suddenly May 4, 2007, at his home on Kimball Road.
Mr. Benoit was born in North Stratford, NH, on July 18, 1931, the son of Noel and Rosa E. (Beauchemin) Benoit.
Ted was raised in Lunenburg where he worked on the family farm and later became self employed and hauled pulp locally. He proudly served as a Sergeant First Class with the US Infantry during the Korean Conflict. For many years he resided in Connecticut where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for almost 40 years. After retiring he returned to Lunenburg. Over the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was a lifetime member and past commander of the John W. Weeks VFW Post #3041, Lancaster, and the Local #1018 in Connecticut.
Family members include three children, Michele Schmidt of South Yarmouth, MA, Fawn Repoli of South Carolina, Terry Benoit of Massachusetts; a granddaughter, Tanya Benoit; five brothers, Duke Benoit, Reginald Benoit, and Edwin Benoit, all of Lunenburg, Lawrence Benoit of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Alphonse Benoit of San Antonia, TX; two sisters, Pearl Willey and Yvonne Boucher both of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews. His parents and two brothers, Eugene Benoit and John Benoit predeceased him.
At Ted's request there are no visiting hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
