Blanche P. Howland

GUILDHALL - Blanche P. Howland, 84, of Courthouse Drive, was struck with a sudden illness at home and later passed at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster on August 23, 2018.

Mrs. Howland was born in Groveton on March 17, 1934, the daughter of Francis and Marion (Stevens) Gilman. She was raised in Groveton where she attended school and was employed for a time at the paper mill.

In March of 1954 she married Andrew L. Howland. During their 64 years of marriage they raised 8 children and Blanche worked many years as a stitcher for several of the area shoe factories, including Connor and Hoffmans. For many years she was also employed in the waxing department at Hitchners in Littleton.

Blanche was a talented knitter and also enjoyed crocheting. She was well loved by her family who will miss dearly along with her beloved cats Nancy and Blondie.

Surviving family include her husband Andrew L. Howland Sr. of Guildhall; her children, Cindy Bush of Littleton, Wanda Abbey (Marc Sr.). of Lunenburg, Andrew L. Howland Jr. (Paula) of Littleton, Arthur Howland of Littleton, Jimmey Howland (Patricia) of Groveton, Tammy Bilodeau (Richard) of Littleton, Paula Reichey of Concord, NH, Joanne Howland (DeWayne Spencer) of Concord, VT; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchidren.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
