LANCASTER - Eleanor G. White, 84, of Elm Street, died Saturday morning, April 3, 2010, at Weeks Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. White was born in Lancaster on May 20, 1925, the daughter of Shirley and Elizabeth (Monahan) Gardner.

She was a lifetime resident of Lancaster and a graduate and valedictorian of Lancaster Academy. For a time she worked in medical records at Weeks Memorial Hospital and for many years was an executive secretary at the Stinehour Press in Lunenburg. More recently she was employed as a secretary at St. Paul's Church in Lancaster.

Eleanor was a communicant and former organist of All Saints Church in Lancaster. She enjoyed square dancing and was a Hospice volunteer.

She was the loving mother and grandmother of five children, Richard White and wife Sandra of Rochester, NY, Gary White and wife Ann Marie of Berlin, Sarah Bates of Bristol, NH, Rosemary White of Dalton, Arthur White of Bristol, NH; five grandchildren, Allan, Andrew, Nicole, Graham, Shannon; and three great-grandchildren, Parker, Jenna, and Kevin. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Veronica Gardner of Lancaster, and two nephews, William White and Stephen Gardner. She was predeceased by her husband Paul A. White; two brothers, Glenn Gardner, Henry Gardner and a sister, Hazel Gardner.

A visiting hour will be held Monday morning April 12, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 AM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Reverend Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to Weeks Home Health, Hospice and Community Outreach Services, 278 Main Street, Lancaster, NH 03584-9998.
