Phillip D Marvin

LUNENBURG, VT - Phillip D. Marvin, 71, of Colby Road, died suddenly at his home Monday morning, October 24, 2011.

Mr. Marvin was born in New Haven, CT, on May 19, 1940, the son of Irving Howard and Pearl (Alexander) Marvin.

He was raised in New Haven and attended Eli Whitney Tech School.  He was a precision tool maker and was employed for a time at Marlin Gun Manufacturing in Connecticut.  In 1969 he moved to Wappingers Falls, NY, to work for Fargo Manufacturing in Poughkeepsie.  For many years he and his family took trips to Lunenburg, VT, to vacation, hunt and fish.  In 1998 he moved there permanently.  Besides hunting and fishing he also enjoyed crafts and woodworking. From 1960 to 1966 he served with the Nation Guard.

Family members include his wife Viola (Fasciani) Marvin of Lunenburg; his son David Phillip Marvin of Houston, TX; a daughter Dawn Marie Marvin of Wappingers Falls, NY; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Robert Marvin and two sisters, Charlotte Janicki and Evelyn Bittner.

There are no visiting hours.  A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, October 29, at 2:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 210 Main Street, Lancaster, NH.  His good friend Reverend Larry Batza of East Haven, CT, will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
