Scott E. Ashby

Scott was born in Concord NH, and growing up in a military family, lived numerous places before the family decided to settle down in Jefferson NH. He was just a teenager when he met the love of his life and who he would eventually marry and spend the next 44 years with. To say it was all roses and happy times wouldn't be true as with any marriage, but I'll tell you this, he often would stop along the road and pick some flowers and bring them home for no reason other than he loved her with all he had. He was dedicated to his work and spent a lot of time working, but nothing compared to the love and dedication he had for his family and friends whom he would drop anything he was doing and go far above and beyond to help, no matter the time of day or how far away. Scott was better known as "Skeet" and if you didn't know him as Skeet you probably didn't know him very well. He was quite versed in a lot of things and could fix most any problem he came across although he'd tell you otherwise. He was a humble man in that aspect. Skeet spent the better part of 30 years driving truck for Ingerson Transportation, taking a break for a few years but eventually found himself back in the seat, doing what he loved. If you were headed somewhere and needed directions, you can bet he'd been there and knew the best way to go. He'd even give 2 or 3 other ways to go just to really confuse you. He had a love for being outdoors, hunting, snowmachining, fishing, shooting bow and arrows with the family were among his favorites. He thoroughly enjoyed pulling bass through the ice with his kids and grandkids. To him, there was nothing better than to see the "kids" pull in a big fish. He would light up with the biggest smile. Bigger than the kids I'm sure. A hell of a man gone too soon Skeet will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.... He was predeceased by parents Marilyn and Edwin Ashby, brother Paul Ashby. He is survived by wife Brenda Ashby; daughter Janet Stevens and her husband Chad Stevens; daughter Jamie Ashby and her Significant other Rob Donnelly; son Scott Ashby and his wife Olivia Ashby; sister Lynn Abromovich and her husband Steve Abromovich; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Memorial visiting hours will be held Saturday, December 4th, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster.
