Obituary for Joyce A. Forrest

LUNENBURG - Joyce A. Forrest, 86 of South Lunenburg Road, known as “Jo” passed away at home surrounded by loved ones, after a long hard fought battle with cancer and other illnesses, on November 6, 2019.
Jo was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. She was born to Lewis and Agnes (Richardson) Dunnells on July, 3, 1933 in Bristol, CT, where she spent a good share of her childhood. For the past 55 years she has resided in Lunenburg where she married the love of her life Velmore Forrest. She and Val did a lot of traveling and enjoyed many friends; she especially loved spending time with her family, playing cards, bingo, Friday shopping trips and lunches out with Bonnie.
Jo was a member and treasurer of the TOPS chapter in Lancaster and was also an officer of the Emblem Club in Littleton. Community service was important to her and she enjoyed working as a ballot clerk, Justice of the Peace and a member of the Lunenburg Methodist Church. Additionally, she volunteered many hours helping others. She was well known for all of the cookies she donated for the cookie walks.
Survivors include two daughters; Aprel Woods and her husband, Peter, of Lakeland, FL, Katherine Couture and her husband, Donald, of Berlin, NH, six grandchildren, Rick Santaw, Kathy Hartshorn, Cher Woods, Kellie Gorman, Keith Hartshon and Katrina Blais, numerous great and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents she was predeceased by, six brothers, a daughter and a granddaughter.
At Jo’s request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Riverside Cemetery in Lunenburg, followed by a “Happy Hour” at the Lunenburg Community Hall.
