LANCASTER, NH – Judith L. Freddette, 79, of Portland Street, passed away in the early hours of Monday morning, October 9, 2023, at The Morrison in Whitefield.
Judith was born in Portsmouth, NH, on July 29, 1944, the daughter of Fay S. Kane Sr. and Helen A. (Quirk) Kane. She attended St. Pat’s school and graduated from Portsmouth Senior High School in 1962. She was a mother and homemaker and a member of the Son’s of Italy and Moose Club.
Judith and husband Don lived in Atlantic Heights in Portsmouth for 8 years and briefly lived with her parents in Eliot, Maine, while building a home in Greenland, NH, from 1972 to 2006.
Besides being a mother and homemaker, Judith worked for the Gowen Family at Gowens Corner, Greenland, making apple pies and homemade donuts. She then went to work for the Portsmouth School system as a cafeteria worker at the Brackett School on Pease Air Base. From there she transferred to the Portsmouth High School cafeteria and was the cafeteria manager for 25 years, retiring in 2006, at which time she and Don sold their Greenland Homa and moved to Lancaster.
She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Donald A. Freddette of Lancaster; two children, Jeffrey Freddette of Grand Island, FL, Jennifer Freddette of Dover, NH; four grandchildren, Christopher D. Freddette and wife Samantha of Lebanon, ME, Hallee Steeves and significant other, Sebastian of Littleton, Devin Freddette of Dover, Sarah Myers of Louisiana; and a great-grandson Griffin Sean Stone of Littleton. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Fay “Sonny” Kane.
A private graveside service was held at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery, Portsmouth.
