Theresa Tremblay McAllister, 93, passed peacefully on March 13, 2024 at the Civita Care Center at West River in Milford, CT. She was the second of six children born in Berlin NH to the late Romeo and Jeanne (Salvas) Tremblay. After completing her education in Berlin schools Theresa began her working career at the Northumberland Paper Mill in Northumberland, NH. She joined many Berlin co-workers riding the company bus some 60 plus round-trip miles per day to work. While there, she met the love of her life, Albert (Mac) McAllister of Guildhall, VT. They spent many Saturday nights with friends traveling around northern New England to various music halls dancing to the sounds of the popular big bands.
Somewhat after a time following his induction into the US Air Force, Theresa journeyed to Panama City, FL where she and Mac were married in the Tyndall Air Force Base Chapel in 1952. They settled in Connecticut shortly after the 1955 flood. The family grew to four children. Theresa spent countless hours as a scout leader and sports mother. She sewed all the large team flags displayed along the outfield fence when Peter J. Foley Little League started the girls softball league. She made lifelong friends playing in friendly neighborhood card parties. Many family members still display the artistic ceramic pieces she loved creating as holiday gifts and decorations.
Facing an empty nest, she took a position in the education field providing transportation aid to Naugatuck’s special needs students. Upon her retirement, Theresa was lauded by her coworkers, students and parents for her years of kind and compassionate service. Theresa and Mac retired to the McAllister homestead in Guildhall, VT in 1992.
Theresa was predeceased by her husband Albert Cleon McAllister, her son Douglas McAllister, her sisters Jeannette Cote and Fern Drapeau, and her brother Robert Tremblay.
Left to cherish her memory are her brothers Romeo (Andrea) and Pete (Elaine) Tremblay.
