LANCASTER - Alton A. Covell, 68, of Lancaster, passed away at his home



Wednesday



morning, August 3, 2016 after a long illness with his wife by his side.



Alton was born in West Stewartstown NH, January 16, 1948, the son of Almon Cross Covell and Helen Hazel ( Hartlen) Covell. He grew up in his beloved Jefferson NH.



He married his wife Linda (Madore) Covell in 1973 and this past June they had celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary.



Throughout his life Alton had worked as a carpenter and was a "jack of all trades". He enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards and reminiscing about "the good old days".



His biggest enjoyments in life were his 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren whom he cherished.



He is survived by his loving wife Linda (Madore) Covell of 43 years . His daughter Candace Covell Baker and her husband Craig Baker of Lancaster; his son Brent Covell and his wife Shauna Earnshaw of Lunenburg VT; his daughter Constance Covell and her fiancé Michael Pelletier of Allenstown NH.; 9 grandchildren, Cody Hall of St. Johnsbury VT, Tegan Fisher, Brady Baker, Brockton Baker, and Ayriana Young-Baker all of Lancaster, Noah and Reid Covell of Lunenburg VT, and Samuel and Abigail Pelletier of Allenstown NH; 2 Great-grandchildren - Cambria Hall of Lancaster , and Mykiah Fisher of Lancaster.; two sisters Shirley (Covell) Wright of Lancaster, Cynthia (Covell) Swain of Hawaii; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he all loved dearly.  He is was predeceased by a sister Sharon (Covell) Borofsky , and two infant siblings, James Covell and Candace Cassie Covell.



A memorial service will be held Saturday August 6 at 12:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster.
