ANDREW L. HOWLAND SR.
LANCASTER - Andrew L. Howland Sr., 87, formerly of Guildhall, died Tuesday morning, August 11th, 2020, after a period of failing health.
Mr. Howland was born in East Burke, VT, on November 15, 1932, the son of Maurice and Alice (Portigue) Howland. He was a Korean War Veteran and served two years in the US Army starting in 1949. In March of 1954 he married Blanche P. Gilman and during their 64 years of marriage they raised 8 children. Andrew worked various jobs in Massachusetts and the North Country and at one time was the custodian of Dalton Elementary School. His favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing.
Surviving family include his children, Cindy Bush of Sarasota, FL, Wanda Abbey (Marc Sr.). of Lunenburg, Andrew L. Howland Jr. of Groveton, Arthur Howland Sr. of Lisbon, Jimmey Howland (Patricia) of Groveton, Tammy Bilodeau (Richard) of Littleton, Paula Reichey of Concord, NH, Joanne Howland (DeWayne Spencer) of Concord, VT; two brothers Roy Howland Sr. and Oscar Howland both of Nahunta, GA; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by Blanche in 2018.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
