LANCASTER - Arlene Mary Ridgwell Morin passed away at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, on May 24, 2013 following a brief illness.
Born on July 19, 1942 in Lancaster, she was the first child of Kenneth I. and Garnet Hayes Ridgwell.
Following graduation from Groveton High School she graduated from New Hampshire College in Manchester. She was an employee of Public Service Company of New Hampshire for more than 30 years, departing in 1993 to join her husband, John A. Morin, in retirement. After making their home in Bedford for many years they spent their remaining years divided between their summer home on Neal's Pond in Lunenburg, VT and winters in the St. Petersburg, FL area. Arlene enjoyed reading, it was her favorite pastime.
She was predeceased by her husband in December of 2011, her parents and a brother, Kenneth W. Ridgwell. She is survived by her son, Jason K. Matthews of Maidstone, VT, a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Jerry Martin of Guidhall, VT, nieces, Tiffany S. Benoit and husband Jerry of Exeter, NH, Melissa R. Barney and husband Brain of Guildhall, VT; a nephew, Nicholas R. Martin and wife Brooke, of Lancaster, cousins, Rosemary Mullikin of Colebrook, Glenn W. Hayes and wife Patty of Brownsville, TN, Paul I. Hayes and wife, Susan of Agawam, MA, and great-nephews/nieces Joshua Barney, wife Allison and daughter, Mya, Kaitlyn Barney and fiancé Charles Taylor, Madison Benoit, Hezi Eastman, and Spencer Martin.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening, May 28, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning May 29 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Church in Lancaster. Rev. Matthew Mason, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
