Arthur D. Collins

LANCASTER - Arthur D. Collins, 92, of Ice Pond Road, died Sunday morning February 2, 2014 at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mr. Collins was born in Lakeport, NH, on July 18, 1921 the son of Albert and Jessie (Ingerson) Collins.
For most of his life Arthur worked as a heavy equipment operator and for 20 years was a local auctioneer. He retired in 1990. At one time he served on the Civilian Conservation Corp. Arthur loved to hunt and fish especially with family.
Family members include his son Ronald Collins of Manchester; a sister Pauline Emery of Lancaster; 7 grandchildren, Joseph Poirier of Dallas, TX, Bonnie Pettigrew, Arthur Collins, Dennis Collins, Brad Collins and Patrick Collins all of Manchester; and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Olive H. (Walker) Collins; a son Donald Collins; a daughter Barbara Smalley; a grandson Marvin Smalley; a step-son Howard Ripley; and two step-daughters Irene Raymond and Elaine Hastings.
At Arthur's request there are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Forest Vale Cemetery in Jefferson.
