Arthur B. Wright, 96, of Lunenburg, VT, died peacefully at home after a short illness on August 16th, 2020, his family was with him. He is survived by 5 children: James, Susan, Mary, Robert and Neal Wright; 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Theo Wood, George, Sydney, Jaime and Nikolous Wright; 3 great-grandchildren, Tyler,
Boden and Holden Wood.
After serving in the Navy during WW II, he married Laura Virginia Bollinger and moved to Yaphank, Long Island, New York, where he worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He and Ginny raised their family there.
Always civic minded; he was a member of the Middle Island School Board, served as Grand Master in the Masons Lodge 60 and was an Elder and Deacon in the Yaphank Presbyterian church. In the 1960's he took up flying and enjoyed taking trips in his Cessna. When he retired Art and Ginny moved to Lunenburg where he built their house and continued his lifelong love of woodworking. He was known for his integrity, dry sense of humor and fine furniture.
There will be a service at the Dalton Congregational Church, Dalton, NH, Route 135, on August 26 at 7:00 PM. He will be interred at Washington Memorial Park in Coram, NY.
