WHITEFIELD – Barbara J. Lapete, 86, of Crane Road, died peacefully at home Saturday morning, June 10th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, following a year-long battle with cancer.
Barbara was born in Lancaster, NH, on April 28, 1937, the daughter of Clarence and Marguerite (Cusson) Vashaw.
Most of her life Barbara was a loving homemaker but did work various jobs at Littleton Stamp & Coin, Manchester Knitted Fashion, Mac’s Market, and the Morrison Nursing Home.
Throughout her life Barbara enjoyed bowling, knitting, sewing, arts & crafts, gardening, playing cards, and reading. She especially looked forward to Bingo on Wednesday nights with friends. But her greatest love was spending time with family.
Surviving family members include her husband of 60 years Eugene Lapete of Whitefield; her children, Debra (Edward) LaCroix of Meredith, Karen (Michael) Covill of Lancaster, Rick (Kathy) Carr of Concord, Pam Rouillard of Epsom, Gene Lapete (Joe Boyd) of Tucson, AZ; a sister Marie (Jack) Barber of Fredericksburg, VA; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by a great grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated June 17th at 1:30 PM at St. Matthews Catholic Church, Whitefield. Reverend Britto Adaikalam, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery on Elm Street in Whitefield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North County Home Health and Hospice Agency or Second Chance Animal Rescue in Littleton, NH.
