LANCASTER - Barbara A. Luckey, 61, died at her home Thursday afternoon December 26, 2013 surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Luckey was born in Syracuse, NY on October 13, 1952, the daughter of Richard and Leona (Cole) Holden.

Raised in the Syracuse area Barbara moved with her son to Bonita Springs, FL in 1973.

In 1977 she met R. Floyd Luckey Jr. and they married in 1980.

Together they operated the Bonita Beach Plantation Resort for many years while spending summers in Lancaster.

In 2008 they moved to Lancaster permanently.

Barbara took pride in the fact that she was a friend of Bill for 35 years.

Over the years she has helped many others find that friendship, even in the final days of her life.

She loved to paint, she enjoyed her flowers, and she was a member of the Lancaster Historical Society.

Family members include her husband R. Floyd Luckey Jr. of Lancaster; her son William T. Palya and his wife Alicia of Littleton; two granddaughters, Lindsay Palya of Lancaster, Grace Palya of Heath, Ohio; two step-children, Bob Luckey and Patty Rohman both of Florida; two brothers David Holden and Chuck Holden both of Florida; and two sisters Debra Oliver of Tennessee and Linda Clark of Ohio.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday evening December 28 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster.

A funeral service will be held Sunday at 12 Noon at the funeral home.

Her nephew Irving Luckey will officiate.

Burial will be in the spring at Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.

Donations may be made in her memory to American Cancer Society, NH Division, Inc., Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 Route 101 Unit 501, Bedford, New Hampshire 03102-6800.
