JEFFERSON- Barbara Mealey, 66, of Old Cherry Mountain Road, died Sunday morning October 26, 2008, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.
Mrs. Mealey was born in Boston, MA on April 20, 1942 a daughter of Bernard and Mable and (Collins) Davern.
Barbara was raised in South Boston and lived there for most of her life until moving to Twin Mountain in 1985 where she and her husband owned and operated the Grandview Lodge. After retirement they lived for a time in Gilmington and five years ago they moved to Jefferson.
She loved the Red Sox, flowers and especially being a wonderful Nana to her grandson Alex.
Family members include her husband Joseph F. Mealy Jr. of Jefferson, two sons Joseph Mealey III of Gilmanton, NH and Michael Mealey and his wife Nanci of Jefferson, a grandson Alex Mealey, a brother Donald Davern of Quincy, MA. She was predeceased by, her parents, a brother Bernard Davern and a sister Theresa Durant.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening October 31 from 6-8 PM, at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 11:30 AM. Reverend Raymond Ball, pastor at All Saints Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Vale Cemetery in Jefferson.
