Barbara Jean Sweet, 76, passed away May 22, 2024, due to complications from surgery. She was born in Concord, VT on April 22nd, 1948, to Clement Sullivan and Annabelle (Morse) Sullivan.
Barbara graduated from Concord High School in 1966. She worked a short time in Waterford, VT and at St. Johnsbury Trucking, before working at Littleton Coin Company. Barbara made working there her life and her co-workers were like family.
She met and married her husband, Neil Sweet on October 15th, 1971. They were married for 52 years.
Barb is predeceased by her father Clement Sullivan and mother Annabelle Sullivan. Also, her father-In-law, Neil Sweet Sr.; mother-in-law Vena Sweet; and brother-in-law Richard Sweet.
She is survived by her Husband Neil Sweet of Dalton NH; Brothers Francis Sulivan of Gilman, VT and Bruce (Cheryl) Sweet of Lebanon, NH; Sister Brenda (Don) Sebestyen of Littleton, NH; nephew Ken (Stephanie) Westover of Bethlehem; NH, their children Sam and Chal; nieces Heather (Jared) Peters of Strafford, Virginia, Heather’s children Clinton (Skylar) Ness of Penacook, NH, their children Harper and Hazel; Destiny (Angelo) Esposito of Bethlehem, NH, their children Caiden, Brayden, and Eli; and Alya of Wilmington, NC. She is also survived by brother-in-laws Gary (Lisa) Sweet of Windsor, VT, Bruce (Cheryl) Sweet of Lebanon, NH; and Sister-In-Law Linda French of Hartland, VT and nieces and nephews.
Barbara loved her cats Dolly & Sam like children. She also looked forward to annual trips to the ocean with her mother, sister and any great niece or nephew that went.
Barbara was a very social person and loved keeping in touch with her many friends. She spent her retirement years knitting, crocheting, reading, circle words, sudoku and Facebook.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Lafayette for their care of her.
She may no longer be a part of our daily lives but will never be forgotten. She touched so many in her short time here.
A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, July 14th, 2024, at 1:00PM at the New Overlook Cemetery, East Concord, VT Cemetery.
