Bennett Brooks, born December 21, 2004, son of W. Timothy Brooks of North Stratford, NH, died instantly in a car accident Wednesday evening November 20th in Bow on his way to class. Bennett, also known as “Son-Son” and “Benny Boo”, attended Stratford Public School until 8th grade and then attended and graduated from Canaan Memorial High School in 2023. Upon graduation he attended Granite State Trade School for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Condition) where he had just finished his 3rd semester.
Bennett was also working full time for Ryan Bedard of East Coast Pipe Service which he enjoyed greatly especially when operating the 350 excavator.
Recently, he and his sidekick, Koal Hurlbert, started their own yard and maintenance business called Leaf Lifters.
Bennett was an avid snowboarder and prided himself as part of the Canaan Pittsburg Yellow Jackets’ baseball and soccer teams with his grandparents, Brenda and Neal Gadwah being his most loyal fans. One of his favourite places was camp on Wallace Pond where many friends would gather. Bennett’s circle of life was wide and far reaching. He enjoyed life and when asked for help, he would respond with, “Of course.” Bennett was a kind, gentle, and loving soul who would periodically return to his church family of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Lancaster, when he needed grounding. He considered the people of the North Country as family. Simply put, Bennett was a fine young man and was blessed to have died a happy person. A private burial has taken place in the cemetery on the land of Bennett’s home, the Baldwin Homestead. A simple memorial service will take place at St. Paul’s on Sunday, December 8 at 1:00PM, In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Canaan School Ski Program, or to the Bennett Brooks Vocational Scholarship Fund, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 113 Main Street, Lancaster, New Hampshire.
