GROVETON - Bertha M. Chapman, 93, died October 22, 2006, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Bertha was born in Groveton on June 12, 1913, the daughter of Dr. Frank Harawer Chapman and Helga Mary (Abramson) Chapman.
She was a graduate of Groveton High School and the University of New Hampshire where she acquired a teaching degree. For many years she taught English at Groveton High School.
A brother, Carlton Chapman of Illinois survives her. She was predeceased by her sister Mary H. Chapman in 1993.
A visiting hour will be held Saturday morning, October 28, from 10-11 AM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be immediately after at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Reverend Sherry O'Bara, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Groveton, will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in Valley Cemetery, Lebanon.
