MANCHESTER- Bethany A. McMann, 51, of Shirley Hill Road passed away on Sunday July 16, 2006, after a long illness, surrounded by her family at Elliot Hospital, Manchester.
Mrs. McMann was born in Lancaster on December 5, 1954, the daughter of Nicholas and Sylvia (Holden) Stone.
Bethany was raised in Groveton and was a graduate of Groveton High School, where she was a member of the national honor society. She was employed by, the State Liquor Store for a time, the Berlin City Bank and was also a volunteer at Weeks Hospital in Lancaster. In her spare time she loved doing cross-stitch and spending time with her family. She loved, people and friends, her doors were always open.
She was stricken by illness in May 2001, and her longtime caregiver was her sister Jane whom she lived with.
Family members include her parents of Groveton, a daughter; Jill Terry and her husband Tom of Manchester, Connecticut; a son Justin McMann and his wife Nicole of Groveton; three grandchildren; Luke Terry, Lexie McMann, and Nolan McMann; two brothers, Charles Stone of Healy, Alaska, Shaun Stone of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters Jane Boudle of Manchester and Tammy Stone of Spofford; many nieces, nephews and her former husband Charles McMann.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday afternoon and evening, July 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home,Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 PM at the Groveton United Methodist Church, Reverend Sherry O'Bara, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery.
