GROVETON - Betty Mae Barry, 68, died Wednesday morning January 11, 2012, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Barry was born in Norwich, Connecticut, on April 8, 1943, the daughter of William and Roberta (Kenny) Haviland.
Raised in Preston, CT, she resided there until moving to Groveton in 1987 with her husband Alan Barry of Groveton. She always had a passion for Indian folklore and artifacts which carried over to her business, Tall Lady Indian Jewelry. She was also a member of the National Rifle Association.
Family members include a son Charles Reuther of Oregon; a grandson Josh Hickey; two sisters, Roberta Goldman of Waterford, CT, Corrine Swan of Preston, CT; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband Alan predeceased her.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Lake Cemetery, Pittsburg.
