Betty Reed

Betty R. Reed, 85 of Lancaster passed away peacefully on June 8th 2024 at her home in Lancaster NH, surrounded by her family and close friend (Peggy Silver). Betty was born to Blanche I. (Smith) Algier and Parker C. (Bud) Collins on September 7th, 1938. On June 30th, 1984 Betty married the love of her life, Claude H. Reed. They made their home in Lancaster and enjoyed traveling, their family, and many friends.

Betty enjoyed cooking, especially in her later years, and was known to share whatever she made feeding family, friends, and those who were sick; she was known for her baking (especially chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cream pies). She loved gardening, growing house plants, bingo, gambling, and crocheting. She will be remembered by all for her deep love of family and community. Betty's family was the pinnacle of her life, she was always caring for them.

Predeceasing Betty is her husband, Claude; her parents; her brother Lester (Tony) Collins, her half-sister Cathy Collins, her half-brother David Collins and her beloved grandson Brody M. Robinson. She is survived by her three children: Joyce Bernier (Rick) of Lancaster, Ralph Bennett III (Cindy) of Lancaster, Jodie England (David) of Whitefield and half-brother Parker (Mickey) Collins of Lancaster. Betty also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service officiated by Tim Brooks will be held at Summer Street Cemetery on Thursday, June 13th at 2 p.m; the public is welcome. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow the service at 202 Summer Street Lancaster NH.
