GROVETON - Blanche C. Hutchinson, 84, of Brooklyn Street, died Thursday evening August 16, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Lancaster, NH, on September 24, 1922, the daughter of Fred and Angie (Berry) Carter.
Blanche was raised in East Lancaster where as a young girl she enjoyed working on the farm with her father. Most of her life she has resided in Groveton having worked for a brief time at the Groveton Paper Mill. Most of her life she was a devoted homemaker who loved spending time with her family and telling stories about her grandchildren. She also liked flowers, gardening, and seeing people enjoy life.
Family members include a son Donald Hutchinson of Groveton; four daughters, Sandra Gonyer and husband Tom of Groveton, Ann Goulet and husband (David) of Stark, Trudy Leclere of Hampton, NH, Ruth Mills and husband Mike of Stark; a daughter-in-law Cathy (Hutchinson) Bishop of Lancaster; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her husband Warren Hutchinson; a son Richard Hutchinson; two brothers, Richard Carter, Sydney Carter; two sisters, Ella Carter Bishop, Ethel Carter Hodge; a grandson Alex Brooks; and a daughter-in-law Evelyn Hutchinson.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Monday afternoon and evening, August 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A memorial service will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Thomas W. Bentum, pastor of the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
