Blayne Lorenzo Pond, 92, originally of Lunenburg, Vermont passed into the hands of the Lord on August 19th, 2024 at John Forsythe Good Sheppard Hospice in Auburndale, Florida. Blayne was born to Delmar William Pond Sr, & Dorothy Louise Leighton Pond on November 2nd, 1931 in Lunenburg.
Blayne served his country on the front lines in the US Army during the Korean War. Before the DMZ was established, he served in North Korea.
He was a supervisor in the home building industry for many years in and around Newmarket, New Hampshire. After retirement, he became a handyman, known in & around Zephyrhills Florida as the “Snowbird Handiman”. Blayne was a life member of VFW Post 3041 in Lancaster, New Hampshire and a 69 year member of the American Legion Post 67 of Newmarket, New Hampshire.
Preceding Blayne in passing are his parents; brothers Delmar William Pond Jr., & Clive Audrey Pond; Sisters Elaine Imogene Young & Vaughn Ilda Hartwell; and his daughter, Kelly Jean Pond.
Surviving Blayne is his wife Pauline M. Poire-Pond of Winter Haven, Florida and Sons David (DaleAnn) of Wasilla, Alaska; Robert Pond of Exeter, New Hampshire& Duane Pond of Concord, New Hampshire. Also surviving are Granddaughters Ashley Jean Pond of Wasilla, Alaska; Morgan Pond of Newfield, Maine and Marissa Pond of Rochester, NH as well as his first wife & mother of his children, Jean Beaule of Concord, New Hampshire and a host of nieces and nephews.
Military Honors will be rendered at Riverside Cemetery in Lunenburg, Vermont on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Boys Town, 200 Flanagan Blvd P.O. Box 6000 Boys Town, Nebraska.
