GROVETON - Born on April 16th, 1951 to Daniel K. Connors and Marguerite J. Connors (Ramsey), Senior Chef Brian Charles Connors passed away in his Northumberland, NH home on Tuesday, December 14th, 2021.
Brian was born at home in North Stratford, NH and was the middle of three boys. His middle name Charles was given after his grandfather that he admired. As a child, he survived both chicken pox and scarlet fever. Growing up he had a horse named Applejack, a dog named Mulligan, and worked at the Forbes Farm. He graduated from Winnacunnet High school in 1969 and joined the military when he turned 19.
He was proud to serve his country, was dedicated to his Naval career, and respected others that served. During his 22 years of active service Brian participated and won many of the coveted Captain Edward F Ney Memorial Food Service Awards. These awards led him to a scholarship at Cornell University where he studied food science. This enhanced Brian's creative side, he enjoyed fruit, wood and ice carving. He always loved to feed a crowd and took pride in the meals he provided. He retired on Sept 30th, 1991.
Brian viewed the world differently and was not always the easiest man to get along with. He would be the first to offer up his help and advice to anyone in need. And anyone that needed help knew that meant you were doing the project his way from that moment on. His hobbies included snowmobiling at Maidstone and tormenting his grandchildren. His homemade "chicken nuggets" were secretly made with fresh caught brook trout. Their weekend visits would leave Grandpa Brian happy but tired. His love of horses was passed on to his youngest grandson.
Brian was always seeking to fill the empty void in his heart. In 2016 he packed up and headed out to tour the US on his Harley. He saw a great many things, and lived to the fullest he could, before settling back into an area near where he was born. The call of the wild brought him back to where he was born. He volunteered at Fish and Game as a Hunters' Safety and Bow Hunting Educator.
