LANCASTER - Cari Lea Hodgdon, 46, of Elm Street, died of a sudden illness, Monday June 4, 2018. She was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on February 27, 1972, the daughter of Donald Hodgdon and Susan (Forbes) LaMadeleine.
For the past 5 years Cari has worked as a cookie baker at Santa's Village in Jefferson. Her many interests included shopping, crocheting, crafts, and outdoor cooking on the grill. She collected sock monkeys and turtles. Her favorite movie was "Always" and she was a big fan of Chicago Fire, watching it over and over. She loved travelling to the ocean to smell the air, listen to the waves and enjoy some whole belly clams. Cari spent every moment loving life especially with her kids who she loved dearly.
For 17 years she was the longtime companion of Michael D. Powell who predeceased her May 17, 2011.
Surviving family members include her children Adam Powell and Hannah Powell; her mother Susan LaMadeleine; her sister and brother-in-law Shelly and Ryan Houde; her extended family including Michael's sisters, Laurie A. Powell Isenburg and family of Pennsylvania, Tammy Gawronski and family of Arizona, Tina Powell and family of Merrimack; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held Monday, June 18th at 3:00 PM in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster. Reverend Seth Frink, pastor of the Lancaster Assembly of God Church, will officiate. A potluck luncheon will follow at the Lancaster Ambulance Bay.
