Carol Marshall

February 4, 1940 — December 21, 2024

Whitefield – Carol Fay (Chamberlain) Marshall, age 84, passed on to be with our Lord and Savior on December 21, 2024 at Littleton Regional Hospital after years of declining health.

She was born in Morrisville, VT, on February 4, 1940, a daughter of the late Roland and Marie (Harrington) Chamberlain of Rhode Island.

After attending The Whitefield School, Carol and her first husband, Billy Matthews, raised a family in Lancaster, NH. Carol and her second husband, Joseph Marshall, lived in Lancaster, NH, until Joseph’s death. In later years, she lived with different care givers, including six years with her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Becky Matthews, before settling at Sartwell Place, an assisted living facility in Whitefield, NH.

Carol had such a peaceful nature which drew many to like her. In younger years, she enjoyed walking, and her love for food was evident in her uncanny ability to identify each ingredient she could taste.

Carol is survived by six of her eight siblings: Dianna Gray, Sally Chaignot, Gary (Sharon) Chamberlain, Crystal (Dale) Wilson, Deborah Olsen, and Pamela Cariglio.

She is survived by five of her six children: Kenneth of Littleton; Daniel (Amanda) of Whitefield; Robin of Conway; Brent (Robin) of Bellingham, WA; and Chris (Becky) of Whitefield. Her legacy includes grand and great grandchildren.

Carol was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Joseph Marshall; her ex-husband, William Matthews; her brother Brian Chamberlain; sister Sandra Gargano; and her son Cameron Matthews.

A graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, 378 Main St, Lancaster on Wednesday, May 14th at 1pm.

It is requested that any donations be made to The Morrison Communities in Whitefield, NH. The love, care, attention, and respect the Sartwell staff showed Carol while she lived with them made them all feel like family.
