MAIDSTONE - Chandler B. Ford, 79, of Ford Road, died Sunday evening, February 25, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, White River Jct., VT.
Mr. Ford was born in Guildhall, Vermont on February 5, 1928, the son of Fred and Celia (Ball) Ford.
Chan was a long time resident of Maidstone. He served in the US Army during WWII and later with the Army National Guard. For 25 years he was employed at the Peoples Bank in Groveton and for 18 years was a self employed sales representative for Electrolux.
He was a member of John W. Weeks Post 3041, Lancaster, American Legion, Groveton, and the Gilkey Masonic Lodge, Groveton.
He is survived by, a stepson, Wayne Elliott Sr.of Maidstone,VT; six grandchildren, Atashia Downs, Rotina Johnson, Leola Sobliros, Wayne Elliott Jr., Ora Elliott, Raymond Elliott. He was predeceased by, his wife Phyllis J. (Nelson) Ford and his brother Rodney Ford.
At Chan's request there are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Thursday afternoon, March 1 at 1:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. Reverend James Michaels, pastor, of Lancaster Assembly of God will officiate. Burial with military honors will be held in the spring in Ridgwell Cemetery, Guildhall, VT.
