LANCASTER - Charlotte (Dunn) Quay, 93, died peacefully at home early in the morning of June 3, 2015, after a long illness.
She was born on January 11, 1922 in East Orange, NJ, to George P. Dunn and Evelyn (Smith) Dunn. She earned a BA degree from Wells College in Aurora, NY, and an MA degree in chemistry from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY.
In 1946 she married Robert M. Quay, who remained her husband for 55 years until his death in 2002. They are survived by four children and had 12 grandchildren.
Charlotte's interests were varied including bridge, bowling, skiing, hiking, tennis, and knitting. Her community activities involved service on the board of Weeks Memorial Hospital, hours and hours of volunteer work at that hospital, a period of service on the Col. Town Spending Committee, and active membership in the Mt. Prospect Ski Club.
Later this year a memorial service will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Weeks Medical Center Auxiliary.
