LANCASTER - Charlotte M. Scott, 83, formerly of Garland Road, died peacefully Saturday August 23, 2014 at Country Village Genesis Eldercare Center.
Charlotte was born in Metuchen, NJ on May 1, 1931 the daughter of Alexander and Mildred (Hawkins) Kravits. She worked as a Telephone Operator and then went on to earn her cap as an LPN from Fitkin Hospital, Neptune, NJ in 1964. She worked for Fitkin Hospital until she move to Florida where she went to work as a nurse for Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral, FL until she retired. She then went to work for Sprint until 2006 when she moved to New Hampshire.
Charlotte and her husband, Salvatore, who passed on February 14, 2011, lived in Neptune, NJ until 1979 when they moved to Florida.
She was a devote Christian and went on several mission trips to South America.
Family members include her children Virginia "Ginny" Crane and husband Ron of Lancaster, Paul Scott and his wife Diane of Naples, FL; a sister Dorothy Taylor of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a niece and several nephews . She was also predeceased by a brother Alex Kravits.
A visiting hour will be held Wednesday afternoon August 27 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Reverend Donald Williams of Lancaster will officiate. Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
