LANCASTER - Clement H. Johnson, 78, of Third Street, died Tuesday afternoon June 10, 2008, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.
Mr. Johnson was born in Dalton, NH, on November 9, 1929, the son of Lester and Christine (Mooney) Johnson.
He was raised in Dalton and after his high school graduation he served with the US Army during WWII.
For a time he worked for railroad maintenance and repair but will be best remembered as the owner and operator of Whitefield Taxi Service. Clem loved fishing, playing his harmonica and singing.
Family members include his wife Doris (Wells) Johnson of Lancaster; a son Clem Johnson of Lunenburg; four daughters, Tammy Keller of Lancaster, Lisa Brown of Whitefield, Debbie Johnson and Heidi Johnson both of Lancaster; 14 grandchildren; and a brother Vernard Johnson. He was predeceased by a brother Lester Johnson.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held Monday morning, June 16, at 11:00 AM in the Cushman Cemetery, Dalton. Reverend Donald Williams, pastor of the Mt. View Baptist Church, will officiate.
