WARREN, ME- Cleo Wilson Boudle, 85, passed away September 8, 2007, after a long battle with cancer, under his daughter Sandra Delvillar's care.
Mr. Boudle was born in Stratford on September 30, 1921, a son of Irving and Lilla (Masters) Boudle.
Cleo enlisted in the Army in 1942 in the Glider program, which ended in 1943. He then became a machinist and remained in the Army until 1945. He was in the 89
th
Squadron, 3
rd
Bomb Group, and the 5
th
Air Force. He served in Mindoro, Philippines, New Guinea, Palu Island, Okinawa, Japan, and was stationed at the Atsubi Air Base in Japan. After being discharged from the army, he finished his schooling and graduated from the Lancaster Academy in June of 1947. He continued his trade as a machinist at Pratt & Whitney in West Hartford, CT. After retiring, he resided in Warren, ME. Where he became an expert at gardening. Whatever he had left from his garden after delivering his vegetables to family members, he would give to those in need.
His interests included airplanes, music, and gardening. He once made an exact replica of an A-20 airplane from WWII, which was displayed at Weeks Memorial Library in Lancaster. He once gave guitar lessons to a young man that was on T.V. and the radio.
He leaves behind his wife, Bernice (Gray) Boudle of, Tolland, CT, where he built his home. He also leaves behind eleven children, seventeen grandchildren, and 27 great grand children. A sister Gladys Ingerson of Jefferson, and a brother Henry Boudle of West Burke, VT they are the only two surviving siblings.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 105, Warren, Maine.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening, September 12, from 5-8 PM, at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Reverend James Michaels, pastor at the Lancaster Assembly of God will officiate. Following the service he will be laid to rest in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
