LANCASTER: Cora "Jean" Graber passed away peacefully on Monday 11-09-09 in her home at the McKee Inn in Lancaster. She was born on October 10, 1920 the daughter of Albert Edwin and Gladys (Garron) Titius on Briar Island in West Port Nova Scotia. She was the wife of the late Paul N. Howell and the late George T. Graber.
During her career she served as an assistant to the Registrar at Gordon College, as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service and as a contract administrator for the Unites States Government at the Defense Contract Administration Agency. After marrying George in 1969 she relocated to the Lancaster area and was a medical secretary at the Weeks Medical Center for a number years until retiring to Lunenburg VT.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, The American Legion Auxiliary and the Professional Business Women's Organization. She belonged to the Lancaster Congregational Church and was active in the senior's programs at Colonel Town Community Center. She loved to travel and enjoyed hooking rugs with friends in the area "The Hookers".
She is survived by her children and stepchildren: Nancy Goldman and husband Charles of Haverhill MA; Paul Howell and wife Loretta of Peabody MA; Edwin Howell and wife Erin of St. Paul MN; Donald Tibbetts and wife Susan of Blyth CA; Tom Graber and wife Laurie of Lancaster CA; and Katrina "Tina" Whipple and husband Perley of Bethlehem NH. She had 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, two brothers predeceased her: Albert Titus and Victor Titus.
There are no visiting hours.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 21, at 11:00 AM, at the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Colonel Town Community Center, High Street, Lancaster NH or to the charity of you choice.
