Dale M. Pond

LUNENBURG, VT - Dale M. Pond, age 88, of Lunenburg, VT passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Dale was born in Lunenburg the son of Derwood and Celia (Woods) Pond. Dale worked at the various paper companies in Gilman, VT, retiring in 1995 with 42 years of service.
A loving husband and father, Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping at the many campgrounds around New England. Motorcycling with family was also a passion of Dale's. He spent time each summer at Old Orchard Beach in Maine with his wife Midge, children, and grandchildren.
Dale and Marjorie were married on May 12, 1951 at the First United Methodist Church in Littleton, NH. Dale was enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves for 10 years, serving from 1954-1955 in Germany.
Dale is survived by his beloved wife of 68years, Marjorie Parker Pond. Three children; two sons, Alan Pond and wife Robin of Gilman, VT, Jeff Pond of Gilman, VT, and a daughter, Darlene Cloutier and husband Albert of Stark, NH. Three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.
Dale was predeceased by a brother James Pond, a sister Marcella Pond Lamont, and a best friend and brother by choice, Velmore Forrest.
His family wishes to thank the many friends and caregivers for their love, support and wonderful care. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
