The death has occurred of Daniel (Danno) Doherty in Lancaster, New Hampshire. Formerly of Rhinebeck and Elizaville, New York. After a long illness Dan passed away peacefully with his wife Julie holding his hand. Predeceased by his beloved mother Margaret (Peg) Moran, Joseph (Bud) Doherty, and his sister Deborah (Deb) Doherty-Williams. Dan will be dearly missed and remembered with love by his wife Julie and his daughter Orla. Deeply regretted by his brothers Dennis and David Doherty, brother-in-law Jeffery Williams, and sister-in-laws Carole and Sue Ellen. Including nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors Jason and Jenn Amidon, and the many friends who knew & loved Dan.

Born in Boston, MA, Dan was raised alongside his older siblings Dennis, Deborah, and David Doherty. After spending some time in Springfield, MA, the family settled in Rhinebeck, NY. Dan attended school in Rhinebeck until they moved once again to The Twin Lakes House in Elizaville, NY, where Dan helped run the family Tavern. He graduated from Pineplains Central School in 1975, and attended Dutchess Community College for Communications.

Dan apprenticed under a local sheetrock contractor and became a talented self employed sub-contractor thereafter, he was skilled in the crafts of tiling, sheetrocking, and carpentry. He contributed to the community and surrounding area through the many renovations and custom projects he completed during his time in New York.

Deciding to take a break from contracting, Dan had the opportunity to work alongside his brother-in-law Veterinarian Jeff Williams as a vet tech for four years. In 2008, Dan met Juliana (Julie) Beggan at Foster’s in Rhinebeck, which led to their marriage and birth of their daughter Orla Doherty. In 2022, the family relocated to Lancaster in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Throughout his life, Dan was passionate about music and concerts. His main life companions were man’s best friend, the dog; Sandy, his childhood dog, Maxine, Jakey, Jewels his sister’s dog, and Eddie & Cappy. With his family, Dan enjoyed many trips to Mexico, Ireland, and Scotland. Dan also loved to cook, especially his mother's recipe for Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and gravy. He was a good baker his favorites were Boston cream pie, key lime pie, pineapple upside down, peanut butter cookies, and many more.
