LANCASTER - Daniel D. Wheeler, 52, of Portland Street, died at his home Monday morning October 23, 2006.
Mr. Wheeler was born in West Stewartstown, NH, on February 5, 1954, the son of Dorothy Reed and Leonard A. Wheeler.
He was lifetime resident of Lancaster and worked for a time as stonemason but most of his life as an auto body repairman. As a body man he was employed for a time at Burt's General Repair and Welding, White Mt. Mack and also McDevitt Trucking. For the last 2-½ years he has been self employed.
Daniel enjoyed auto racing and was an active builder and racecar owner. He was also a former pitcher in the Connecticut River Softball League at Colonel Town.
Family members include his significant other Roxanne Hartlen of Lancaster; his son Steven M. Wheeler of Lancaster; his parents, Dorothy and Allan Carr of Lancaster; a grandmother Margaret Carr of Lancaster; a brother Shayne Carr of Lancaster; three sisters, Charnee Buckley of Lancaster; Lolly Beikirch of Rochester, NY, Kathi Clarke of Lancaster; a step-brother Ricky Carr of Chichester; two step-sisters, Karen Paquette of Northumberland, Debra Lacroix of Winnisquam; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening, October 25, from 6-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Church, Lancaster. Rev. David Rose, Pastor, will co-officiate with Rev. Gary Beikirch of Rochester, NY.
