Danny William Timson, 77, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2026, while enjoying the view at his beloved camp on Neal Pond. Dan was born on September 28, 1948, to Beatrice (Sivegny) and William “Fred” Timson, and lived the majority of his life in Lunenburg, Vermont. He attended schools in Lunenburg and Concord and graduated from St. Johnsbury Trade School, where he studied to become a machinist. During the Vietnam War, he worked at General Electric, where he helped manufacture Gatling guns. He later worked at Groveton Paper Company before moving on to the Gilman Mill, where he worked for 28½ years and eventually became Head Machinist. Following the mill’s closure in 1999, Dan worked for Bruce and Maxine Hadlock in Littleton, providing property maintenance and helping care for their sulky racing horses—a job he thoroughly enjoyed. Dan loved the outdoors. There are countless stories of his adventures on Pond Hill, where he spent many hours with one of his dearest friends, hunting squirrels and game of all shapes and sizes. Hunting season was undoubtedly his favorite time of year, and he spent as much time as possible in the woods, always hoping for that trophy buck. He was successful more than once, and it seemed that some of his best luck came on Thanksgiving Day. Summers were spent boating, fishing, camping along the river with friends, and taking countless rides while exploring the back roads. Winter brought snowshoeing and ice fishing at Neal Pond. Whether he was in the woods, on the water, at camp, or simply enjoying a ride with no particular destination, Dan was happiest outdoors and making memories with the people he loved. 

Dan is survived by his love of 45 years, Deb (Couturier) Timson; his son, Jeremey Timson and his wife, Danielle; his daughter, Nicole Mitchell and her husband, John; his grandchildren, John S. Mitchell V, Travis Timson, and Remi Timson; his sister, Brenda Bryant and her husband, Richard; brother-in-law Bruce Couturier; sister-in-law Ann Fitz and her husband, Gary; as well as cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and several very close friends. 

Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Dan’s life at the Dalton Municipal Building (the old Dalton school), 756 Dalton Road, Dalton, NH, on Sunday, October 11th. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a luncheon and time for family and friends to share stories, memories, and celebrate the life of a man who will be deeply missed.
