LANCASTER - Darwin Charles Kay, more commonly known as Buddy, passed away in his home on June 21, 2013. He was born in Lancaster, NH on July 7, 1942 to Robert "Bob" Kay and Phyllis Hurlburt. He lived most of his life in the Lancaster area, with temporary residences in Manchester, NH and Big Lake, AK.
He is survived by his siblings James, Sharon, Julia, Lea, David and Jenny; his children Roxanne, Roger, Jay, Niki, Juston, Amanda, Cristol, and Robert;14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; andmany nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by both parents and brother, Robert "Butch".
Buddy's favorite pastime was fishing . He had many "secret hot spots" that only a few close friends know about.
Buddy is loved, not only by his family, but many members of the community. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be missed and will remain a happy memory in many hearts.
There will be no funeral services, but a "Celebration of Life" will be held in the Colonel Town Gymnasium (16 High St, Lancaster, NH) on Saturday, June 29 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. At 6:00 PM Rev. Sharon van der Laan will officiate a brief memorial service. Donations can be made in Buddy's memory to the
"Buddy Kay Student Athlete Scholarship Fund"
at Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank.
