David R. Lunnie

CONCORD, VT - David R. Lunnie, 64, of Lunnie Farm Road, died of a sudden illness in Gilman on Thursday, March 23, 2017.

Mr. Lunnie was born in Concord on July 5, 1952, the son of Paul W. and Beverly (Folsom) Lunnie. Following his father's career he and his family resided in several parts of New England including Maine, Southern New Hampshire and Connecticut.

For most of his own career David had worked as a radio disc jockey. He was employed at many radio stations including WOKQ, WSTJ, and Magic 97.7. He also worked for various stations in Boston, Philadelphia and New York. He has done voiceovers for documentaries, video games, and Governor John Sununu.

David held other jobs locally including bus driver for the Concord School, mail carrier, website builder, and attendant at the Bethlehem Landfill. For a time he served on the Concord Planning Board. He was a member of the Top of the World ATV Club.

Family members include his wife Star (Morton) Lunnie of Concord; two sons Douglas Lunnie of Eliot, Maine, Robert Lunnie and wife Leisha of Great Falls, Montana; a brother Daniel Lunnie of Lebanon, Maine; 10 grandchildren; step-sons Harold Heath, Joseph Heath, and Tim and Liz Heath and family, close grand-son Tristan Therrien, all of Concord; special cousins Beth-Ann Willey of Barre and Paul Lunnie of Concord and two dogs, Scoobie-Doo and Tripper.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 31st, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside service will be held in the Concord Village Cemetery on May 19th at 2:30 PM. Reverend Gerry Piper, pastor of the Springfield United Methodist Church, Springfield, VT, will officiate.
