JEFFERSON, NH - Debra L. Salkins, 63, of Turnpike Road, died of a sudden illness at her home Saturday morning, January 13, 2018.
Mrs. Salkins was born in Danvers, MA, on March 29, 1954, the daughter of Robert and Norma (Holt) Turpel. For many years she worked as a cook supervisor initially with Sylvania and later Cab Health and Recovery both in Danvers, MA. Approximately 10 years ago she moved to Jefferson, NH.
Debra was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Lancaster, NH. She enjoyed visits from her children and grandchildren. She also liked playing word games, fishing, cooking, and target shooting with her 22. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Family members include her husband Elliott R. "Skip" Salkins of Jefferson; her parents Robert and Norma Turpel of Jefferson, NH; her daughter Lisa Seger and husband Mark of Peabody, MA; a stepdaughter Krista Salkins of South Bend, Indiana; four grandchildren, Mikalah, Kiley, Sipu, Amber; four siblings Jeff Turpel of Topsfield, MA, Scott Turpel of Beverly, MA, Beverly Houde, Cape Coral, FL, Jodi Turpel of Oakdale, MN and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Robert Lumb.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Saturday afternoon, January 20th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 210 Main Street, Lancaster, NH. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Reverend Timothy Brooks, Pastor of St. Paul's Church will officiate.
