GILMAN - Diana Parker, 76, formerly of Gilman, died Wednesday evening February 19, 2014 at Country Village Genesis Eldercare Center, Lancaster.
Born in Falmouth, Maine on May 24, 1937, Diana was the daughter of Clinton Rupert and Anena Catrina (Madsen) Parker. She was raised on the Portland Waterfront and later Westbrook, ME. For a brief time she also lived in Westbrook, CT until she settled in Lunenburg, VT in 1969.
Raising her family in Lunenburg, Diana was a dedicated homemaker who was known for her generosity to others. Many of her neighbors and friends of her children were welcome at her home and partook of her good cooking.
For a time she worked as a meat cutter at Butsons Supermarket and was also a pottery maker at Mountaine Meadows Pottery. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crosswords, swimming, long rides and was a big fan of Stephen King.
Family members include her children Keith Parker of Lunenburg, Stephen Parker of Hardwick, James Parker, Tracy Dunnells and Veronica Heyes all of Lunenburg; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and her many close friends. She was predeceased by a daughter Victoria Parker of Danville, VT in 2010 and a brother Donald Parker.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Sunday afternoon February 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster, NH. Burial will be at a later date in Maine.
