Obituary

Don Call, 87 of Guildhall, Vt passed away Monday October 5, 2026 at the Littleton Regional Hospital surrounded by his family after a declining period of health.

Don was born on April 15, 1939 in Lancaster, NH to Roscoe (Bill) and Esther (Beech) Call. He spent his whole life in Guildhall, Vt. on the same land where he was raised and worked on the family farm. He married Nancy Brunelle on September 23, 1972. They were blessed with three daughters who were the light of his life.

Don was well-known for many things. In his younger days he enjoyed drag racing and was known as the fastest gear shifter in the North Country. He was very skilled at welding and fabrication, working in area mills, contracted projects, and eventually building his own trucks to start his skidder moving business. Locally known as “The Skidder Guy”, Don loved being a part of the logging industry and considered many of his customers friends. He prided himself on hard work, honesty and taking care of his family.

Don was an avid reader, reading several newspapers daily, enjoyed books on logging history, World War II history, and steam trains and railroads. He enjoyed attending classic car shows and photography. He loved telling stories of his adventures and making people laugh, especially at his favorite thing, a family cookout.

Don is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy, his daughters Valerie Belanger and husband Tom, Erin Blodgett and husband Ben, and Anne. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Riley and Alaina Belanger, as well as his sister Betty Streeter, and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother William (Billy) Call.

Calling hours will be held at Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster, NH on Monday October 12, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
