JEFFERSON - Donald E. Noyes, 85, died at his home Monday, June 24, 2019, after a brief period of declining health.
Donald was the son of Earl W. and Amanda Blake Noyes, born in Berlin, NH, on October 16, 1933. He was drafted into the US Army after the WWII and served in the occupation of Germany. He served in the late 50s, stationed in Schweinfurt with the 10th Mt. Division. On October 24, 1953 he married Catherine Sheridan.
For many years Donald worked at the Groveton Paper Mill retiring there as a pipefitter. He served his town for many years on the Jefferson Planning Board and on the Supervisors of the Checklist. He loved farming and the outdoors. Family gatherings made him especially happy.
Surviving family members include a daughter Dawn S. Miller (Marc), a son Timothy Noyes (Jill); grandson Adam Stephen Noyes; his older brother Samuel Noyes of Colebrook and younger sister Marie of Jefferson. He was predeceased by Catherine and a son Stephen Blake Noyes.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening, June 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside service will follow Saturday morning, June 29, at 10:30 AM, in Hillside Cemetery, Jefferson.
