WHITEFIELD - Doris P. Davis, 83, of Hazen Drive, died Wednesday evening, May 23, 2007, at The Morrison in Whitefield.
Mrs. Davis was born in Vershire, Vermont, on March 5, 1924, the daughter of William and Carolyn (Morey) Perkins.
Doris and her husband Norris Davis were married in September 1954 and moved to Whitefield in 1967. Throughout her life, Doris loved nature. She loved wild flowers, picking berries (her favorite), hiking through the woods, fishing, hunting and in her earlier years, skiing. Doris loved her family and was always ready to give a helping hand whenever she was needed. We will miss her sweet smile and gentle spirit.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses; Gene Fairbrother and wife Barbara of Shoreham, VT, Lorraine "Sis" Cadwell and her husband Louis of Vershire, VT; Carolyn (Davis) Whipple and her husband Lance of Lancaster; Fred N. Davis and his wife Maggie of Whitefield; as well as thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister Hilda Giniuze of Barefoot Bay, Florida; along with many nieces and nephews.
Doris is predeceased by her husband and soul mate Norris and her brother Robert Perkins of Vershire, Vt.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening May 25, from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 AM at the Twin Mountain Baptist Church, Carroll, NH. Rev. Ernest Gault, pastor will officiate. Burial will be at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, N. Thetford, VT, at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Morrison,2-6 Terrace Street, Whitefield, NH 03598 for hospice care.
