Dorothy R. 'Dot' Roy

LANCASTER - Dorothy R. "Dot" Roy, 86, of Burnside Street, died Tuesday afternoon, July 7, 2015 at Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster.

Mrs. Roy was born in North Conway, NH on June 11, 1929 the daughter of John and Merial (Kneeland) Reny.

In 1938 she moved to Lancaster and graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1947.  She attended nursing school at St. Louis Hospital in Berlin where she attained a degree as a registered nurse.  For a time she worked at Morrison Hospital, Whitefield and later Weeks Memorial Hospital, Lancaster, retiring there after 33 years of service.  For 16 years she served on the board of directors at Morrison Nursing Home.

Family members include her husband Francis D. Roy of Lancaster; a sister Jacqueline Duquette of Poughkeepsie, NY; 2 nephews; 1 niece and numerous cousins.

At Dot's request there are no visiting hours and a graveside service will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster, at the convenience of the family.
